The Benefits of Steel King’s SK2000 Pallet Rack
Posted on Nov 8, 2024
You can buy material handling racks from a variety of manufacturers. But did you know you get more when you choose racking made by Steel King?
Steel King’s SK2000 selective pallet rack is most commonly used for material handling in warehouses and distribution centers. Made from roll-formed steel, SK2000’s closed-tube boltless design has many advantages over steel racking made by others. Those advantages are realized by features that have been engineered to deliver superior durability and configuration flexibility, from the type of steel used, and from the experience of a company that has been designing and manufacturing racking for more than 50 years. And because we use only American-made steel, you can be confident in the integrity of the material.
When you consider those advantages and their benefits for material handling racks, we believe you’ll agree that SK2000 boltless, tubular racking has a very favorable total cost of ownership.
The SK2000 Pallet Rack is Built to Last
Roll-formed steel for SK2000 columns and step beams are continuously welded – by AWS-qualified welders – into closed-back sections, providing exceptional strength and dramatically increased durability compared to other products on the market. Bracing is secured with full fillet weld that is 4 times more weld than many competitors’ racks. Because of that welding, our uprights have 250% more front impact strength than open-tube columns, offering heavy-duty performance. That means decreased maintenance costs and the proper capacity for current or future needs, from racking systems that meet all industry standards as determined by the Rack Manufacturers Institute.
Along with structural integrity, SK2000 pallet rack components are protected with a powder coat paint finish with lead-free paint that is 100 percent cured before shipping. All those components are shipped in curtain-sided trailers or tarped flatbeds to protect the finish during transit.
The boltless design of this material handling racking makes it easy to install and reconfigure when storage needs change. Beams use a heavy-duty, 9-gauge, 3-rivet connection, meaning adjustments can be made by one person.
